The Physic Garden Network is a group of over 100 women who support each other to grow medicinal plants. They came together online during a time when they were unable to be together physically.
thank you 🌿 for all the knowledge. so excited for what we'll all grow together
What started out as a remote growing network has become so much more. The women have taught each other the fundamentals of germinating and caring for herbs but they've also exchanged recipes, seeds, balms, experiences, and memories and have supported each other during the darkest days of lockdown.
I love the description of seeds being “brilliant, tiny packages of hope”. So true, they are amazing!
The women in the network grew plants together, but they also grew knowledge. The conversations in this section of the website represent just a selection of the communal learning that took place.
This means a lot to me, it’s my first time ever sowing seeds. I’m so excited about the next chapter with my baby seedlings 🌱
Each guide is a direct excerpt from the Physic Garden Network's online conversations that took place every Monday in 2021. They might not resemble the “how to” guides you are used to following but they hold so much of their context: the care, love and patience with which these women shared their learning. They represent an exchange and a nurturing rather than a top-down centralised form of education. We hope you find them useful and inspiring.
We have given me back a sense of myself
